| Titus statement on filing for re-election |

Friday, March 5, 2010 Henderson, NV – Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s Third District released the following statement today after filing for reelection. “It has been an honor to represent the people of District Three and serve as their voice as we face one of the most challenging times in Nevada’s recent history. When I was elected over a year ago, our nation and our state faced the deepest recession in a generation and my district has long been ground zero for our country’s foreclosure crisis. That is why I have devoted my time and the resources of my office to helping families in District Three save their homes. Whether it’s calling a lender who has ignored good faith efforts to make payments or holding housing workshops to help homeowners get the resources they need, I have been committed to fighting for the people of Southern Nevada during this difficult time. “I know the path back to economic recovery has not been easy for Nevadans and there are bound to be more obstacles along the way. With families struggling to make ends meet, it is essential that we focus on putting people back to work. Job creation will continue to be my top priority while fighting against the special interests in Washington that are only interested in preserving the status quo, because Nevada’s families can afford nothing less.” # # # |
